I really don’t like “Queer-Baiting” it’s clear enough this actor supports the community to play in it. Gay or not they are doing a justice for the community lol. Plus an idea, Kit Conner was pushed into coming out for being suspected of Queer Baiting, and turns out Kit and his character Nick Nelson basically go thru the same thing! Seeming,t straight, actually bisexual. Or Tom Holland getting fucked from behind by a dude in a movie, he for a moment was under fire for queer baiting… like wut? We’re being normalized in movies by not just gay actors but straight actors.. like?! How does one take offense to this?

Good queer representation matters! Queer actors should be given more roles in general however if being gay isn’t directly involved with the plot then a straight actor could play the role. In the little mermaid, Ariel being white had NOTHING to do with the story or plot so she could have been any race and it wouldn’t have affected the plot. On the contrary a live action of Brave would need to have a Scottish actress because it is so important to the plot. So let’s review, if a character’s story is linked with a specific trait, an actor with that trait should play the role because it doesn’t make sense otherwise. Thus, in love Simon, where the ENTIRE movie stems from 2 characters being gay and liking each other, there should be 2 gay or at least queer people playing them.

i know this is not an oppression competition, but arguably female queer representation has been the one we've been missing the most. it makes me so happy to finally see it: chappell, reneé, billie and victoria monét doing their thing. openly queer men have been around finding ways to be respected in the music industry: freddie mercury, elton john, david bowie, lil nas X. but also, i hope that this phenomenon (or better femininomenon) does not lead to an overinvestment and capitalization on female sexuality, in a sense that i expect those artists to be able still to express themselves beyond their sexualities. ever since billie came out, ppl seem to be overinvested on it. let my girl be more than bi or whatever. let her talk to other women without sexualizing every word...

After experiencing Troye Sivan live this month, I can truly say this was the best crowd and second best live concert I saw, only topped by Lil Nas X' Glastonbury performance last year.
